#Book Review – Without Disruption; C. French

10 January 202210 January 2022 ~ lilaclicoricetissie ~ 1 Comment

Wow! What a cool idea!  I’ll admit I always preferred my sci-fi with a dystopian flavor, so I might be a little biased here; still, Without Disruption is a real gem.

#Book Review – Surrogate Colony; B. Rasti

Adriana and Zach live in a post-pandemic world called MicroScrep, where everything is regulated by algorithms and paranoia. From the outside, MicroScrep looks like an idyllic place: forget conflicts, forget diseases, forget everything that might upset the citizens. Harmony reigns supreme and unchallenged.

Eugene is one of the inhabitants of the Tower, a building complex sealed from the inside. No one gets in, no one gets out, in a quite literal way: doors and windows are bricked, and robots meet people’s needs. It’s a depressing life, justified by the threat of the ongoing pandemic. Or is it?

# Book Tour – 28 Days; Sue Parritt

1 September 20211 September 2021 ~ lilaclicoricetissie ~ Leave a comment

Parritt’s writing is rich, her style engaging. The plot has some surprises in store for the reader too, and Emma’s character growth is a plus in my book. Another praise goes to the cast of characters, as they're realistic and a strong support to the story. Well done!

Orange City – Lee Matthew Goldberg

3 March 20213 March 2021 ~ Val on the Moon ~ Leave a comment

Today I'm reviewing Orange City, by Lee Matthew Goldberg. As the snippet suggests, this is a dystopian novel set in a secret city. The city is ruled by a tyrant, and the most important rule is that its citizens have to obey, or else they end up in the Zones, a place nobody wants to end in.
